Where are yew?!?!

Blink-182 Are one of my favourite bands of all time... Their music has helped me through some really shit moments in life, by making me laugh, look on the brighter side of things and reminding me that whatever I’m facing is something I can get through. They’ve always made me feel like I’m not the only one dealing with the shit parts of life.

A lot of their music is about life and growing up. The songs they wrote when they were younger were literally about the things they were experiencing in real time, so everything feels incredibly relatable and real. They sing about real situations they been through, or that people close to them have lived through, which makes their music feel all the more genuine and easy to relate to.

When I turned 18, for my first tattoo, I thought it would be fitting to get a Blink-182 one! This is because, like I mentioned, they helped me so much whilst growing up. I decided to get the iconic bunny mascot on my arm, with the ‘Dude Ranch’ Blink logo underneath, with the lyrics “Well, I guess this is growing up”, from the song ‘Dammit’. The reason I went for those lyrics is because getting a tattoo is like a stage of growing up, it’s a new thing that you’ve never done before, and is a sign of growing up and becoming an adult.

Starting the band in 1992, and still making music and touring to this day, Blink-182 have been through it all. Hiatus's, Tom leaving the band... TWICE, Travis Barkers plane crash, Toms skin cancer and Marks stage 4 cancer. But have they given up? NO!! Tom is now back in the band and cancer free, Mark is now cancer free and Travis feels safe to go on planes again to tour! This shows how much of a connection they have with each other, to carry on doing what they do after everything that has happened. The song ‘One More Time’, which is from their newest album from 2023 that goes by the same name, is all about what they have faced and been through in the past, but how they’re always going to want to do this ‘One more time’. Blink-182 are pop punk legends, who have created hit after hit, and always find a way to relate to their fans!
